Welcome to the Upper Midwest Region of Hadassah 

Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, is a volunteer women's organization,
whose members are motivated and inspired to strengthen their partnership with Israel, ensure
Jewish continuity, and realize their potential as a dynamic force in American society. 

The Upper Midwest Region has over 4,000 members, associates and supporters in Iowa,
Nebraska, Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota.  The Region assists chapters with
fundraising, education, membership, programming and leadership needs by supplying
training, motivation and networking.

  • Worldwide medical breakthrough combating macular degeneration, a disease causing blindness
  • The Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower, under construction, will change the face of Israel and the medical map of the Middle East
  • First landing of shock trauma helicopter on new helipad atop the Center for Emergency Medicine
  • Israeli-Ethiopian initiative reduces mortality rate from 25 % to 1% of Ethiopian orphans with HIV
  • First center for domestic violence opens in Jerusalem at Ein Kerem
  • Oral patch to prevent bad breath developed at Hadassah
  • Successfully rallied for passing of Stem Cell legislation
  • Research revealing post traumatic stress disorder predicted through a simple blood test
  • Hadassah Medical Organization and Royal Melbourne Hospital jointly pioneer a blood test for detecting, monitoring and treating brain cancer
